ASUS isn't without stern competition at the sub $300-350 price point with GIGABYTE, and ASRock both competing with models that similar feature sets. This includes models with three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, but none of them include as much USB 3.2 G2 on the rear panel, and this is where the ASUS shines. ASUS does include a solid software package that makes subtle, but effective enhancements in users' experience, it only bolsters the overall package. It performs well in our testing, looks good while doing it, and offers users plenty of overhead for users looking to push the performance of Ryzen 5000 and Ryzen 3000.

The ASUS ROG Strix X570-E features a solid feature set and a good array of connectivity. While we do feel there’s room for 3 M.2 slots, I really don’t see a lot of folks making that jump if they’re already rocking 2. For professionals, a bulk hard drive array would suffice and this motherboard supports up 8 SATA devices.

What Asus has here is a capable X570 board that we'd feel far more comfortable dropping a 12- or 16-core 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU into than the MSI X570-A Pro. It also has added aesthetic prowess, Wi-Fi up to the preferred 802.11ax standard, 2.5 Gigabit LAN, M.2 heatsinks, greater PCIe 4.0 support, and more scope for large storage arrays. It strikes a good balance between premium features and price, knocking more than £100 off the price of the MSI Prestige X570 Creation, so if you have a little extra cash to play with for the heart of your new X570 rig, the Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming is an attractive and solid choice.
